That’s where Enterprise Vice President Kelli B. found herself in early February—in the Roosevelt Room, attending a White House Roundtable on “Technology Jobs in Rural America.” Her hosts for the session: US Secretary of Labor Tom Perez and Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack.
Long before the Blue Raiders of Middle Tennessee State upset Michigan State in the Big Dance this spring, recent MTSU grad William S. had his heart set on pursuing a career as an athletic director. Until he suited up as a Management Intern at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, that is.
“It was life-changing,” William says. “Once I got into the business at Enterprise, I knew this is where I wanted to be long term.” Since December, he’s been chalking up the early wins of his career as a full-time Management Trainee in the Tennessee Group.
That’s all in a day’s work for the Enterprise team of Field Truck Maintenance Managers. But a recent training session gave these employees and their corporate support team the chance to take their job specialty to a whole new level.
When Erin G. joined the Enterprise Management Training Program in 2004 in Cleveland, she had no idea how far her career would take her. With a strong work ethic and eagerness to always take on more, she quickly excelled and made her way up the rental ranks at some of the largest neighborhood branches in the Cleveland area.
But Erin didn’t stop there. She set her sights on a new challenge – an airport branch.
Luis has been performing these feats for more than 13 years in the vehicle rental industry in Puerto Rico, first with National and Alamo, now with Enterprise Holdings overseeing all three brands.
“During his tenure in the group, Luis has proven to be a true leader for the team,” says Bryan T., Vice President/General Manager of our Puerto Rico group. Bryan praised Luis’ “excellent performance, winning attitude and commitment to the Founding Values, and the development of several employees to promotions.”
Luis cites three key elements in his success: customer focus, company image and employee relations.
Derrick M. was a bright young accounting professional looking to start his career with a successful company that offered opportunities for career growth. He had just graduated from the University of Tennessee when he decided to join Enterprise’s East Tennessee Region office in Knoxville in 2012. A year later, his promising career hit a bump in the road.
“I found out that the path to success isn’t always easy, especially early in your career as you learn a new business and adapt to the culture of the company,” Derrick says. “I was struggling with what my next steps would be at Enterprise.”
Excellent customer service is in full bloom at Enterprise branches all across the Hawaiian islands these days—and it’s no accident. Customer satisfaction scores are now consistently hitting the corporate average (and nudging even higher) as the result of a high-profile effort to reach 100 percent customer satisfaction.
An eye-catching pin, with “100%” emblazoned atop a golden hibiscus bloom, has become the official symbol of the Hawaii Group’s commitment to outstanding service. Worn by every customer-facing member of the team, the pin serves as a reminder to “deliver the best service we can, 100 percent of the time,” says Dan S., Vice President/General Manager.
Simply mention the Management Training program to Céline R., and she has trouble containing her enthusiasm. “Oh my gosh, it changed my life,” she says.
It’s not really an exaggeration, notes the Assistant Manager of the Enterprise Rent-A-Car branch at Gare de Lyon in Paris, France. When Céline first learned about the MT program at a college job fair a couple of years ago, she’d never even heard of Enterprise before.
