Strengthening.our.communities.E305JD.E181K4.E752K9.option.3What would you do if you heard that a tornado with 165-mile per hour winds leveled more than 30 homes in a neighboring community?

Assistant Branch Managers Kyle S. and Patrick D. didn’t think twice — they gathered supplies and stepped up to lend a hand.

Back from the brink: Enterprise support helps Albertans recover from wildfires

Albertans.wildfires.E390FJ.E998K2.E4684M.E858MWThe bright blue skies overhead gave no hint of the devastation that was about to descend on Fort McMurray, Alberta, on the first Tuesday in May.

Locals knew about wildfires burning in the vicinity, but “there was no smoke in the air that morning,” says Will S., Area Manager.  After lunch he stopped by the local Enterprise truck branch which sits up a bit from street level—and when he glanced out the window, Will noticed something ominous: billowing smoke, bearing down on the city.

That’s certainly the case in Flint, Michigan — as Enterprise employees have been pitching in with a neighborly effort to address the current water crisis.

Enterprise supports military families through third annual Progressive Insurance® Keys to Progress Program

keystoprogressAs part of our ongoing support of military members and their families, we recently joined forces with Progressive® Insurance, the National Auto Body Council (NABC) and others in the collision industry for the third annual Keys to Progress® program. The one-day, nationwide event provided more than 130 newly refurbished vehicles to deserving military members and their families on Veterans Day. The recipients were selected by local VFW chapters and other veteran organizations.

The Keys to Progress vehicle giveaways, spearheaded by Progressive, took place at 60 Progressive Service Centers across the country. For the third consecutive year, Enterprise provided six months of automobile insurance for each donated vehicle to ensure recipients were well covered. We also helped transport families to the giveaway events.

Spotlight on Louisiana Group: employees honor late coworker

honorlatecoworkerIt’s never easy to lose a member of the family and Corey Bush Sr. was definitely a member of the Enterprise family. Corey had been a full-time service agent in Southern Louisiana for 14 years when he was tragically killed while interrupting a burglary in his home two weeks before Christmas.

“Corey was hardworking, loyal and knew everyone,” says Area Manager Eric S. “He was the kind of guy you wanted on your team because you could rely on him for anything.”

“We wanted to do something for his family for the holidays, so we bought gifts for his kids,” says Area Manager Ryan E. “The next year, we wanted to do even more to honor him and help his family. We knew Corey was an avid softball player so we reached out to some of the teams he played with, and established the first memorial softball tournament.”

Skydiving for charity

skydivingforcharityIs raising money for charity by jumping out of a plane impressive or crazy?

A little of both if you ask Accountant Vala G., Accounting Supervisor Barrie K. and Intern Gwenan P. from Enterprise Southwest England, who all went skydiving to raise funds for the U.K. Pituitary Foundation.

Vala learned about the opportunity when staff from the Pituitary Foundation visited their office.

“I like trying new things and thought skydiving would be fun. I did have some doubts when I was hanging out of the plane, but by then it was too late,” says Vala who convinced Gwenan and Barrie to jump with her.
