Nearly 60 years ago, after serving his country in the skies over the South Pacific, Jack Taylor came home to start a business.
He was a proud member of the “Greatest Generation,” serving as a decorated U.S. Navy fighter pilot in World War II. He often credited the lessons he learned in the Navy – including integrity, hard work, team spirit and simply doing the right thing – with helping to shape him as a person and as a businessman.

The city of about 100,000 people has been operating under a state of emergency since early January, due to lead contamination that rendered its water supplies unsafe to drink.

As part of our ongoing support of military members and their families, we recently joined forces with Progressive® Insurance, the National Auto Body Council (NABC) and others in the collision industry for the third annual Keys to Progress® program. The one-day, nationwide event provided more than 130 newly refurbished vehicles to deserving military members and their families on Veterans Day. The recipients were selected by local VFW chapters and other veteran organizations.
The Keys to Progress vehicle giveaways, spearheaded by Progressive, took place at 60 Progressive Service Centers across the country. For the third consecutive year, Enterprise provided six months of automobile insurance for each donated vehicle to ensure recipients were well covered. We also helped transport families to the giveaway events.

It’s never easy to lose a member of the family and Corey Bush Sr. was definitely a member of the Enterprise family. Corey had been a full-time service agent in Southern Louisiana for 14 years when he was tragically killed while interrupting a burglary in his home two weeks before Christmas.
“Corey was hardworking, loyal and knew everyone,” says Area Manager Eric S. “He was the kind of guy you wanted on your team because you could rely on him for anything.”
“We wanted to do something for his family for the holidays, so we bought gifts for his kids,” says Area Manager Ryan E. “The next year, we wanted to do even more to honor him and help his family. We knew Corey was an avid softball player so we reached out to some of the teams he played with, and established the first memorial softball tournament.”

Is raising money for charity by jumping out of a plane impressive or crazy?
A little of both if you ask Accountant Vala G., Accounting Supervisor Barrie K. and Intern Gwenan P. from Enterprise Southwest England, who all went skydiving to raise funds for the U.K. Pituitary Foundation.
Vala learned about the opportunity when staff from the Pituitary Foundation visited their office.
“I like trying new things and thought skydiving would be fun. I did have some doubts when I was hanging out of the plane, but by then it was too late,” says Vala who convinced Gwenan and Barrie to jump with her.

Field of Dreams is more than just a classic movie about the love of baseball — it’s about making dreams reality, and that inspiration has made its way to Southern New Jersey.
For the past three years, Enterprise employees in the Philadelphia Group have helped the South Jersey Field of Dreams organization write its own script, and the major plotline involves helping individuals with physical and mental disabilities play baseball.
At the field where everyone’s a winner, players of all abilities enjoy one of America’s favorite pastimes on a handicap-accessible baseball diamond. With an infield and dugouts that are wheelchair and walker-friendly, the experience is a big hit for players, volunteers and fans alike.
